The Edmonton Renovation Show returns January 28-30, 2022 at the Edmonton Expo Centre. Are you curious on what you need to keep your eye on for renovation trends for the new year? We chatted with House of J Interiors founder, Jennifer Woch to see what to watch for and how to keep your renovation in perspective to achieve the best result.

As we are gradually making our way into the post-pandemic, Jennifer believes that the hot trends during the pandemic will not go away anytime soon. From home offices to home gyms, she believes that these are here to stay as we realized how much can be accomplished in your home. "Although open concept homes are still popular," says Jennifer, "we will see more designated spaces for work and play. That includes office spaces, designated relaxing areas and more." She cautions however, anyone thinking about their next renovation as we saw a delay in products over the last year, and to keep in mind that now renovations are taking loner to keep up with supply and demand of products. "Now more than ever we can expect renovations to take time. Especially in the last year we've seen major delays with shipping products. I would recommend planning and ordering your finishes early, like fixtures, flooring and lighting. Also be prepared for re-selections as sometimes products are getting delayed indefinitely."

If that dream renovation is on the horizon, Jennifer encourages you to think big and create a wish list of items is important when balancing your budget. "When you know what your budget is for the project, you can scale back or find unique solutions to stretch your dollar." (Did someone say DIY?!)
